I also use a derivative of the (Jung-)Myers-Briggs typology; from Dr. Keirsey. 4 types are also extracted as the main categories, but outgoing/reserved (introversion/extroversion) is used as a supporting indicator, not a prime motivator.

Instead,
Communication style of Concrete vs Abstract sorts people who are into facts and figures or dreams and ideas;
and then Action orientation of Utilitarian vs Cooperative sorts roughly like the task/people category in Marston's system.

There's a good start on the system at Keirsey's website:
http://www.keirsey.com/handler.aspx?s=keirsey&f=fourtemps&tab=1&c=overview

I got the book, and fully recommend it.

Discovering this system made a lot of relations with parents and partners and the outside world make way more sense, and my life easier.

Of course there is evidence that subscribing to any system will improve your mental sense of sanity, regardless of how accurate it is;)

@jeff;

William Marston on wikipedia:
helped invent the polygraph, and Wonder Woman. plus bondage for world peace. Sounds great!

This is interesting. I am basically a C, but speculate that I would also be a moderate S and moderate D. I didnt do the full report thing though, thats just a guess based on the descriptions.

I am only familiar with the Myers-Briggs model so the DISC one is interesting. Must read more!
