My friend who just recently quit smoking said he misses the breaks the most. The chance to go outside and take a time out. Definitely something I can learn. The heart of your point applies to a lot more than PDA's. The heart is to fully focus on the person you are with. If you need to shift your focus, do it with tact and aplomb. Then do the dirty in private. That is a good message.
